End of an era and new beginings

Hello Everyone!!
How are we all? Sorry its only taken me FOUR YEARS to post a new blog!!
Its been a busy summer here at BDHQ!!
I'm going to be doing a monthly update on here so you can keep up to date with whats going off on a more personal level than social media sites and such along with a Vlog once a month or every two weeks. Right I know this Vlog's been coming for a while and I've been practising so I'm not so awkward in front of a camera so hopefully it wont take me four years to release a Vlog like it has with this blog... wow lots of Vlog and Blog. Trust me all these Youtubers make it look easy but stay tuned because its almost ready I just need a little bit more footage. Now I'd like to thank Andy, Chris and Lizzie for their time in the band we've had a great time of it you'll all be missed massively! However the best thing to do was for us to part ways as rehearsals and gigs were becoming less and less due to everyone doing different things and generally growing in life, so I wish all three of you all the best in your future endeavours.

One more MASSIVE thank you to all of the festivals that have still allowed me to play your festival solo when we were booked as a band, the lovely messages back really mean the world. My heart has truly been warmed.
I'm currently setting up a new band so we can tour venues and festivals in 2019 after having bookings already flying in for next year!

This is where YOU come in I'm always on the look out for musicians to join my band The March and I need your help!!
YOU MUST BE LOCAL TO NOTTINGHAMSHIRE/DERBYSHIRE. I'm looking to put a band together of sterling musicians with a great passion, hunger and drive to do something in the music industry If you know someone or you want to be in a band and have played at a professional or non professional level get in touch via the email address at the bottom of the blog.

I'm also on the look out for a muso who can play Fiddle/Guitar and sing as the new songs I've been writing would sound great with a lead guitar on them. However if you play guitar but not fiddle or the other way round don't hesitate to get in touch.

So this year BDHQ have had a great festival season! myself and the band have played to some amazing crowds and along side some amazing bands and artists, met some amazing people and got to chill out with new and old friends! There are a lot of things in the pipelines for the rest of this year and hopefully next year will be even more amazing! So we would all like to thank all of the festival organizers, fans, friends and family for another amazing year touring round the country playing some of the countries best small festivals.

For working really hard to make this year go so well!!

On to the future months!
There is not a lot going off in September as we need time to learn more new songs and I'm in the studio.
October we will be supporting The Roughneck Riot on the 2nd of October at The Maze in Nottingham and on the 11th of Oct we will be playing at the Camden barfly.
November as of yet there is not a lot going off in November the band will be supporting Black Balled (ex New Model Army) at The Maze in Nottingham but we will keep you up to date with gigs to be added to the Oct, Nov and December gig dates.
December we have only one gig in December and that's supporting 3 Daft Monkeys at the bodega in Nottingham on the 3rd of December however we may be planning a gig around the 20th of December so if you would like to come and see us play a Christmas show with maybe a few Christmas covers (WHICH ONES WOULD YOU LIKE US TO LEARN?) in there then let us know if you guys would be up for that let us know!!

To Mum and Dad

So tomorrow my parents are re-newing their wedding vows after 25 years of being married (they always told me we were going to america but hey whats happening tomorrow is far better) with a very special service, very special family and friends new and old and one hell of a party after! To be honest I can't quite believe that two people could love each other as much as my parents do after 25 years and the 19 almost 20 years I have spent with them I've seen there ups and downs, silly times and the times they've both been so happy which all continues to this day! However a lot of things have changed for the better and the person I am today is all down to them teaching me well just to be me I know for a fact in whatever me or my two brothers do they will always support us as we will always support them and stand by them! So mum and dad have a great day!
I love you both to bits and thank you for everything

BUSY YEAR AHEAD FOR MYSELF AND THE BAND!!

Hello! So ive not blogged in a while however I'm going to try and blog every week from now on to keep you all up to date with whats going on so lets get started.
We have a busy weekend ahead this weekend playing Warsop, Nottingham and Lincoln, so Warsop which is tomorrow night is going to be my first solo performance in a while which will be strange to be honest as Ive just played with the band in the past few months so come down to the black market in Warsop from 7:30 to catch myself Gaz Brookfield and Ferocious Dog acoustic :)
Saturday is at the bodega in Nottingham with the band and Support for The Band From County Hell and finally an early start on the sunday which will be fun playing to the folk of Lincoln Uni so thats going to be our weekend! I will be videoing the whole weekend if I can and that should be my blog for next week plus a very special gig announcement for september!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
I have just clinched my first endorsement deal with Farida Guitars and I have to say they make one hell of an acoustic guitar and I'm proud to be part of what this great company are doing!

Hi guys really sorry about the vide blog still not being up! Evidently the video editing soft wear I'm using well... Trying to use is rather complicated! I will try my best to get everything edited tonight ready for an upload tomorrow! Trust me it's worth the wait!

Some exciting news for the future!!! I will be launching my They Say EP at the Rescue Rooms on the 21st of December 2013!! With special guest Paul Miro from Apes, Pigs And Spacemen! Also with special appearances from, Dan Booth of Ferocious Dog and Tony Foster from Spiritualize!

Festival tour

Well the festival season all kicked off with hairfest in march which was a fantastic festival and weekend!!! Then the next festival was bearded theory witch was insane! I couldn't believe how full the tent was! I hadn't even played yet! But I started playing the tent was packed and this was just the Friday night. Saturday night I played with the band that went Dow a storm, big up to Brad, Dom and Liam, also thank you to everyone who came down and made the gig so much better! AND YOU ALL HAD A DANCE!! So I'll leave you with this, see you at dot to dot I'm playing the bodega at half past 1 this Sunday there's going to be a video shoot done so get down for a chance to be in the video and we'll pick out one person and they may win something rather cool ;) so see you then!!

Festival season is upon us!

Well busy few days ahead, firstly I had a meeting yesterday which went great! Secondly I have a few gigs coming up over the weekend, on Sunday the 5th of may I will be playing Insane Fest at the black market in Warsop doors at half 7, then on the Monday 6th I'm playing Smug Fest at the soyo bar in Sheffield thats an all dayer, so get your selves down to both of these!!! There both around a fiver to get in and for 2 full days of music a tenner ain't bad! So see you soon!!

Well this weekend was a little mad having played the rescue rooms supporting Martin stevenson! It was a great turn out, great crowed to play to and a great weekend in general appart from the loss of my wallet somewhere in my bedroom! Had a long run today and found myself sat by a little lake half way through thinking I should run more often not just to keep fit (or get fit) ;) but I was also reflecting on how busy things are right now and how my life is moving forward the way I want it to, from that point my mind went blank and all I had rushing round my head is that the future is going to be one thing but now I should just enjoy and embrace everything that comes my way. Right time for sleep!! Night people!
